This is me...not just because I shaved my head

“There will come a time when you want to cut off all your hair. Do it. Realise that the thing you want rid of doesn’t lie in the long curls that frame your face so perfectly. Live with short hair for a while. It’ll grow. You won’t always want to talk to people. That’s okay. When it’s late and you hear your friends talking in the next room, you don’t have to join them. You’re allowed your solitude. It makes company sweeter and it teaches you how to survive alone. You will need that skill. In the winter, you’ll believe that nothing will ever grow again. You’re wrong. Every year, London looks like it’s on its last legs, wheezing through those last cold days in March. Every year, spring comes like an explosion and the city shakes off its sleep.
Mundane problems will get the better of you sometimes. Don’t worry. Try as you might, life cannot be an endless, beautiful, intense moment. Find comfort in money worries and late trains; they’re a welcome rest in between heartbreaks and breakdowns.
People will call you a cynic, a wry smile on their faces. Pay them no mind. You alone know that you are capable of a love greater than anything they can comprehend. You alone know that you are not willing to sell your identity and respect to the first smirking halfwit to pass by. It is not cynicism. It is reverence for your own vast and fathomless heart, and it makes sense only to love someone who understands that and is awed by it.
You will not always get what you want when you want it. Accept it. Your goals are not set in stone and you are not on a fixed trajectory. Sometimes, life will take its time and you will have to play the long, interminable game. Play it well and with as much grace as you can muster. Live at your own pace.
At night, you will occasionally wake up afraid, wanting to die. Don’t give in. Night plays its tricks, but you are not so easily fooled. Your mind will play its tricks, too. It will make you believe that you’re not who you are, but you must not give in. You take a breath and you tell yourself that you are here. That you always were.” — Practical Advice for Difficult Women (#20 - 9th December)

Doctor Who

I was just watching one of the episodes of Doctor Who Voyage of the Damned and this quote is one of my top 10 fav quotes ever from Doctor Who.

"I shall be taking you to Old London town in the country of UK, ruled over by Good King Wenceslas. Now, human beings worship the great god Santa, a creature with fearsome claws and his wife Mary. And every Christmas Eve, the people of UK go to war with the country of Turkey. They then eat the Turkey people for Christmas dinner, like savages."

Just thought I'd share.

Journey to a smaller me

Starting soon you may see less of me or that's the plan at least. I will be starting Medifast. I've finally come to a place in my life where I am happy with exactly who I am. But looking into my future and with Nursing I cannot be a good Nurse at my current weight. I am scared because I know how hard this can be, but I've dealt with more difficult things. I also hope by loosing weight it will help with a decrease in my pain. If it doesn't oh well.
My first major goal is to be the weight on my drivers license

I hopefully will be able to share my journey on here, if i remember.

Long time no post.

So I'm a total slacker. A quick update on whats going on in my sewing world.

I named my sewing machine Gwilym, the name may change because I'm not really loving it.

I have been sewing and well I actually won some fabric from Smashed peas and carrots. I can't wait to get it.

I'm in another craft swap from Craftster, we shall see what I get.

And I'm going back to school!! Hopefully this summer term!!! I wont have my RN till 2015 but hey better late than never.

Number 2- Fleece for Kids: Easy-To-Sew Clothes & Toys with patterns!!

Paid $1.50 for it.

Meet some of my friends- Part 2

Here are more of my friends down in my craft room-

My sewing machine, Originally it was my Aunt Carol's and passed onto my mom, where I just kinda took it over. I've come to find out the machine was made in the early 1970s, so its older than me yet still runs like a champ!

My rotary cutter- These guys have issues about running into my thumb. We haven't had any accidents recently but boy do they hurt when they hit the side of your thumb.

This is my Christmas gift- My Gingher Pinking shears. I <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKGCf9XHe2enP1CcFJtvFmv6ty2mRTnf0J7o76YtyM0IyA1na2fNkNqu6i17enMOtLra1Ajj3mwTvUxh0YLjdlGa_iKQxix2CKzRWDbYQWvhDe7zrS3QNKzzA2LYdJh-uScqTXBrWhc58/s1600/001.JPG">

And last but not least the button box- I have great memories of this as a kid. Getting a chance to run my hands through it and it was so nice. Cayden is starting to enjoy this tradition as well.

These are just a few of my favorite friends.

Meet some of my friends- Part 1

Since I've been doing more crafting recently I thought I'd introduce my friends-

This is my trusty craft iron- Rowe

She flattens out those pesky problems, gets things straight. She and I had a run in, she burned my wrist. It was my fault I reached over the top of her. She is a good work horse. She can collapse and go with me places. Rowentas are the best irons no matter what I'm spoiled that I have my craft iron as one.

Next up is Ging-

These were given as a gift to me from my mom. 8in dress maker shears with flag handles. My birthday is on Flag Day so its kinda a special gift. Also it was given to me by my mom. They are only to be used with fabric, no paper. I was taught that at a young age.

Well these are just some of my friends. You will get to meet more as time goes on.

I kinda feel like Handy Manny with my tools, except mine don't sing or dance or speak Spanish...
